Social & Wellbeing Benefits
Across the town, Common Good preserves our public parks and open spaces for us to enjoy. It protects them from any encroaching commercial development and, responding to our climate change emergency, enabling their greener management.
History & Heritage
The Common Good Act 1491 is still in force under Scots Law and, whether it is bits of our history preserved in Peebles Museum or properties in and around the town with long-lived heritage, they all have important stories to tell that will be lost unless we take active steps to pass them on in good order for the benefit of future generations.
